Description

Calasparra is a premium Spanish rice produced in Murcia. The cool summer climate results in a slower ripening grain which is harder and more absorbent. Calasparra Rice holds 2 1/2 times more cooking liquid than standard Spanish rice, allowing it to absorb more of the delicious flavors of paella broth and other classic recipes. Granted DOP status in 1986, Calasparra is stil the only such protected rice in Europe.
